Economy to grow 3.8% – IMF

Guyana’s economy is expected to grow 3.8 percent this year according to the Regional Economic Outlook of the International Monetary Fund (IMF). The report projects that inflation will be 1.2 percent.

It also says that many countries in Central America and the Caribbean will also see a decline in financing from Venezuela-sponsored PetroCaribe. However, it says that Guyana and St. Kitts and to a lesser extent Jamaica have built buffers to offset the impact.
