Trotman to have oversight of natural resources management

Former Speaker, Raphael Trotman recently sworn in as the Minister of Governance within the Ministry of the Presidency took up his appointment earlier in the week. A release today from the Ministry of Natural Resources said that apart from responsibility for governance issues, the Minister is also responsible for oversight of the management of the nation’s natural resources which form part of the patrimony of Guyana.

He now occupies offices on Upper Brickdam and has already met with the staff of his Ministry, the release said.
The Minister has commenced scheduled familiarization meetings and visits to the several agencies under his portfolio. During the coming weeks the Minister also intends to meet with international, donor, private sector organizations, other development partners and stakeholders of the governance and natural resources sectors.

World Environment Day will be observed in Guyana and around the World on June 5, 2015 and it is expected that the Minister will be out and about supporting the efforts at restoring the image of Georgetown our “Garden City”, the release added.
