Two airport employees held after man detained with cocaine in rum

At about 1600h. yesterday, the police say that ranks of the Police Narcotics Branch arrested an outgoing overseas-based Guyanese passenger at the CJIA after 6 kilograms 304 grams of cocaine were found to be contained in bottles of rum that were in his possession.

Further investigations led to the arrest of two technicians employed at the Airport.

The three men are in police custody assisting with the investigations, the police said.
