Alleged Kuru Kururu con man released on $150,000 bail

A Kuru Kururu man made a court appearance before Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry yesterday and pleaded not guilty to collecting money from two individuals under false pretence.

The charges read in court alleged that Quentin Green, with the intent to defraud Ramlall Sanichari, obtained $300,000 from Sanichari by pretending to be in a position to obtain a firearm licence for the man, knowing this to be false It was further alleged that on June 5, he obtained $2,000 from Clive Lee by pretending to be in position to obtain a firearm licence on his behalf, knowing this to be false.

The prosecution did not object and Green was released $150,000 bail on both charges.

Green is expected to make his next court appearance on 1 July in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court 2.
