Jamaican remanded over shooting of Berbice ex-cop

A Jamaican national was yesterday arraigned in the Albion Magistrate’s Court over the failed execution of Berbice businessman Ravi Outar.

Stabroek News was reliably informed that Ralvin Mc Lean was remanded to prison and will make his second court appearance on June 29.

Mc Lean and Outar, according to reports out of Berbice, are known to each other.

It is being alleged that Mc Lean transported the gunman to the scene and it was Outar who later pointed him out to the police.

Reports are that Outar a former policeman was sitting in his business place at Rose Hall when a lone gunman walked up to him and opened fire. This was on June 10 around 8.35 pm.

He was rushed to the New Amsterdam Hospital with about five gunshot wounds. Outar has since been transferred to the Georgetown Hospital.
