Albouystown labourer charged over stall break-in

A labourer was placed on $75,000 bail yesterday when he appeared before Magistrate Ann McLennan charged with break and enter and larceny of a stall in La Penitence Market, Albouystown.

Paul Clarke, 30 of Lot 44 James Street, Albouystown, pleaded not guilty to the charge which stated between June 25 and 26 at La Penitence Market, he broke and entered the stall of Adrian Kennedy and stole therein a quantity of items, amounting to $43,000.

Attorney Clive Ford made an application for bail to be granted in a reasonable sum while noting that Clarke has no previous convictions and is not a flight risk.

No facts of the matter were presented in court by Prosecutor Deniro Jones who did not object to bail but asked for it to be of a substantial sum.

The matter was adjourned to July 14 when it will be called again by Magistrate Alex Moore.
