Two men injured in Pearl accident

Two men sustained injuries after a car smashed into the motorcycle they were riding last evening.

Eon Bancroft and his cousin, of Cemetery Road, Costello Housing Scheme, Georgetown were riding along the East Bank Highway in the vicinity of Pearl when a car heading in the opposite direction barrelled towards them.

Bancroft’s girlfriend told Stabroek News that she was trying to piece together what had occurred while visiting the two men who were rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation a little after 20:00 hrs.

She noted that Bancroft’s cousin sustained serious injuries to his right leg and as a result his leg from the knee down may be amputated. She said that Bancroft also suffered trauma to his legs and the family was awaiting more information from the doctors as to the extent of the injuries.

While police officers were present earlier in the evening, when Stabroek News spoke with Bancroft’s family they had not as yet spoken with police nor did they have any information as to the condition of the driver of the vehicle.
