A Brazilian man was killed on Saturday after he was hit to his head with a piece of wood.
According to a police press release, Antonio Rodriguez Da Silva, 57, of Turkeyen, East Coast Demerara, was killed on July 4, at Chinese Creek, Puruni.
Stabroek News understands that Da Silva and the suspect were at Chinese Creek when an argument ensued over a woman. The suspect armed himself with a piece of wood and hit Da Silva to his head, causing his death.
The suspect has been arrested and is currently in police custody assisting with the investigations.
