Food for the Poor helps flood-hit communities

In an effort to assist those communities severely affected by the heavy rainfall during the period July15th to July 16th, Food for the Poor (Guyana) Incorporated (FFP) recently donated a range of items to the Civil Defence Commission (CDC), a release from FFP said.

The items donated included beans, rice, blankets, footwear, clothing and personal care kits among other essentials.

Chief Executive Officer of FFP, Kent Vincent, in his remarks at the handing over, held at the organization’s head office in North Ruimveldt, Georgetown said that FFP was happy to be a part of the flood relief by providing assistance to persons severely affected by the torrential rains.

Speaking on behalf of the Director General of CDC, Annette Adonis, said that she was indeed grateful and thankful for the gifts received from FFP and would ensure that those persons affected by the flooding benefit.
