Elections day will conflict with CXC examinations

Dear Editor,

The President of Guyana announced that May 11 will be elections day. Has he stopped to consider that CXC will be written around that same time? Did he consider that many CXC centres will be identified as polling stations? Did he not know that CXC does not give a hoot about our agenda?

In proroguing Parliament he posited that he did not want to disrupt the festive season, but it is okay to disrupt the CXC examinations. Is this giving credence to the spurious claim of his commitment to education?

You see Editor, the PPP wants our young people to remain in a state of stupor. They do not want our youths to be elevated. It is just nonsensical to hold elections at the same time that CXC will be written. This proclamation has demonstrated beyond a shadow of a doubt that the PPP cabal cares nothing about Guyana; it is all about them. I am therefore calling on all young people of Guyana to reject en masse the total disregard of their well-being by the government.

Yours faithfully,

Carl Parker
