Good that CXC exams have been postponed for elections

Dear Editor,

When I first saw that the date of the elections was set in conflict with exams in the schools I was somewhat taken aback, especially since everything the PPP does is riddled with bad faith and deceit. Then it dawned on me that if the schools were of necessity filled with students doing exams on the 11th May, the government can legitimately request that the PPP homes they used in the 2011 election be used again as polling stations, but more so since the schools will not be available. I am happy to see good sense prevailed and that the CXC exams have been delayed to accommodate the elections; now we have to get the recommendations which the international observers made in 2006 put in place for a free and fair election.

We are calling for elections and we must be prepared for them; are we for example positive that all of our opposition representatives on the Gecom Board are acting in our interest?

Yours faithfully,
Tony Vieira
