Why have all NIS pensioners not received the increases paid to public servants?

Dear Editor,

On the 45th anniversary of the National Insurance Scheme, the Chairman revealed assets exceeding $30B and said that the scheme meets monthly benefit expenditure of $1B.

When public servants receive their yearly increase of, say, 11%, a similar increase is supposed to be paid to all pensioners. All pensioners, therefore, should be paid 8% for 2011 and 5% for 2014, and not only these receiving the minimum pension.

I am calling on all pensioners affected by non-payment of the increase to come forward, and sign a petition for these outstanding payments.

Let us challenge this injustice immediately.

Yours faithfully,
