The President of the Upper Demerara Cricket Association, Mr Bradley Frederick has set the general election for Saturday, April 18, 2015 at Hymira Park at 11:00 hrs. Some of the executives of the association were only informed about this meeting on Monday, April 13 by phone, and not by letter, and not all the clubs were informed either. Under Mr Frederick there was no executive meeting and only one association meeting, which did not come off owing to the lack of a quorum, with only 4 out of 14 clubs turning up to the meeting. There was only one competition last year, and there have been none so far this year.
The letters issued to clubs on Saturday, April 11, are asking them to pay their outstanding dues on or before Thursday, April 16, 2015. Why wait until an election to ask clubs to pay their fees? I will be running against Mr Frederick for the office of President of the Upper Demerara Cricket Association.
