Leguan landlines down

Dear Editor,

It seems that Leguan Island is cut off now from any investment from the telecommunications sector.

All (land-) line phones in Leguan are out of order. That means you cannot call direct to the Leguan Police Station or the Leguan Cottage Hospital in case of an emergency. Shame on GT&T!

If you want to inform the Police that a crime is ongoing you have to call 911 from your cell phone to Brickdam or Leonora Police Station will inform the Leguan Police Station. You know how long it will take? Hours! The Leguan Police Station already does not have a good name on the island.

The internet connection has also slowed down badly. The Public Utilities Commission should investigate this.

Editor, Leguan is not in the hinterland. In Parika, opposite from where I live, the phones and internet connection work nearly perfectly. Why not in Leguan?

Yours faithfully,
