Fizul Bacchus was yesterday returned unopposed as president of the Essequibo Cricket Board (ECB) at the board’s Annual General Meeting at the Cricket Hostel in Anna Regina.
Bacchus’s challenger Prince Holder failed to receive any nomination.
The win means that Bacchus will serve another two years as head of the ECB.
According to reports the entire executive was returned unopposed.
The ECB’s executive body reads Bacchus (President), Totaram Ramnarine (Vice-President), Aotto Christiani (Secretary), Andy Ramnarine (Assistant Secretary), Diren Chintamani (Treasurer), Alvin Johnson (Assistant Treasurer), Anthony Murray (Marketing Manager) and Verna D’Aguiar (Chairman of Competition Committee).
The ECB’s AGM follows that of the Berbice Cricket Board leaving the Demerara Cricket Board as the only county board yet to stage its AGM.
