Atwell replaces Lewis for Mullings fight

The ‘Caribbean Collision’ card will go on sans its main attraction Andrew ‘Six Head ‘Lewis.

After Guyana’s first world champion suffered a hairline fracture to his collar bone during training which forced him out of headlining the February 21 event, many thought the card would have to be postponed.

Not so fast, according to an executive of the GBBC, the card will go on as planned at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall. Only thing different will be Sakima Mullings’ opponent.

Mullings, 32, was scheduled to defend his WBC CABOFE welterweight title against ‘Six Head’, he will now fight former WBC light welterweight champion, Clive ‘The Punisher’ Atwell for a title (TBA). The fight will be in the light welterweight division where Mullings 17(12)-1-0 is looking to campaign on the international scene.

The Dominica based Atwell 12(7)-2-1 has lost his previous two fights, the latter by a questionable 10th round TKO versus Australia’s Kye ‘Frenzy’ MacKenzie Down Under last November.

Atwell, 25, will be looking forward to halt his losing streak versus the 32-year old Jamaican who won his last 13 fights, eight within the distance.
