Hawks in team-record 15th straight win over OKC

(The Sports Xchange) – Oklahoma City came in with a mini-streak but the Thunder could not stop the Atlanta Hawks from a 103 -93 points win for a team-record 15th straight victory.

 

Paul Millsap had 22 points and 10 rebounds as the Hawks (36-8) won for the 29th time in the past 31 games.

 

Russell Westbrook scored 22 points for Oklahoma City, which had won four straight. Kevin Durant added 21 points for the Thunder (22-21) but made just eight of 22 shots from the floor.

Warriors 126, Kings 101

Klay Thompson put on the greatest single-quarter scoring display in NBA history, single-handedly propelling the Golden State Warriors to their 18th consecutive home win with a 37-point third quarter in a over the Sacramento Kings.

Thompson’s 37-point quarter topped the previous mark of 33 that had been shared by George Gervin of the San Antonio Spurs and Carmelo Anthony of the New York Knicks.

 

Thompson finished with a career-best 52 points as the red-hot Warriors improved to 35-6.

Bulls 102, Mavericks 98

Derrick Rose and Jimmy Butler scored 20 points each and the Chicago Bulls topped Dallas to earn a win in the second of back-to-back games.

Having defeated San Antonio on Thursday, the Bulls held off the Mavericks to improve to 29-16.

Dirk Nowitzki scored a team-high 24 for the Mavericks (30-14).

Rockets 113, Suns 111

James Harden scored 33 points and hit the game-winning jumper from 20 feet at the buzzer to give the Houston Rockets a win over the Phoenix Suns.

Donatas Motiejunas added 15 for the Rockets (30-14), who led by 16 points with 6:11 to play before the Suns put on a furious rally, tying the game on a three-point play by forward Markieff Morris with 16.6 seconds left.

But guard Harden held the ball out by midcourt before backing down Phoenix (26-19) defender P.J. Tucker and hitting the game-winning shot.

Cavaliers 129, Hornets 89

The Cleveland Cavaliers enjoyed their biggest halftime lead in franchise history, 75-40, and rolled easily to a victory against the Charlotte Hornets.
