North Ruimveldt edge Charlestown secondary 2-1

North Ruimveldt overcame Charlestown Secondary 2-1 when the third annual Milo/Petra Organization Secondary Schools u-20 football tourney continued yesterday at the Ministry of Education ground on Carifesta Avenue.

Ravin Naughton opened the scoring for Charlestown in the third minute through a lobbed free kick from the centre of the field, over the head and outstretched hands of the goalkeeper into the middle of the goal.

However, North Ruimveldt would fire back 26 minutes later as Shaquan Mars netted through a right sided strike from inside the box that sneaked over the goal-line after the keeper saved the ball.

North Ruimveldt would then take the lead as Matthew Harrison scored what would prove to be the go-ahead winner in the 35th compliments of a lobbed shot into the right hand corner, following a one-on-one situation with the goalkeeper after racing onto a lobbed pass from midfield.
