Guinness Greatest of the Streets football moves to Linden

The Guinness Great of the Streets will now roll into the Mining Town of Linden when the region’s fourth edition commences today at the Mackenzie Market Tarmac from 18:00hrs with eighth slated fixtures.

The tourney which will run from today-May 5th, will feature 32 teams competing in a knockout format. The other programmed venue for the event is the Silver City Hard-Court.

In the opening fixture, Scheme will faceoff with Wisroc while Half-Mile/One-Mile will oppose Block 22 from 18:30hrs in the second matchup.

The third encounter will pit High Star against former winners Silver Bullets from 19:00hrs while defending champs Eagles will tackle Attackers from 19:30hrs.

In the fifth showdown, Commacka will oppose Exodus from 20:00hrs while Ituni will lock horns in the sixth fixture with Silent Assassins from 20:30hrs.

The final two matches will pit Retrieve Unknowns against Ripping Bullets from 21:00hrs and Amelia’s Ward Russians against South Stars from 21:30hrs.

Winners of either event will receive $300,000 and the championship trophy while the second place side will collect $150,000 and the runners-up accolade. The third and fourth place finishers will collect $100,000 and $75,000 respectively.

The resulting finalists will also earn the right to represent the zone at the impending national championship.
