Meckdeci, Joseph remain unbeaten

Ben Mekdeci and Nyron Joseph continued their unbeaten run in group-A section of the Kraft/Toucan Industries junior skill level tourney, clinching two victories each on Saturday at the Georgetown Club Racquet Complex.

Joseph made light work of Alec Melville 11/7, 11/5 and 13/11 and defeated Larissa Wilshire 11/9, 11/4, 10/12 and 11/9. Mekdeci on the other hand, defeated Larissa Wiltshire 11/2, 11/6 and 11/7 and her sister Akeila Wiltshire 11/1, 11/3 and 13/11.

The other match of the section saw Akeila defeating Larissa 11/7, 11/6, 11/7. In the group-B section, Shomari Wiltshire defeated Daniel Islam 11/9, 11/8 and 11/3 while Alex Cheeks downed Anthony Islam 12/10, 11/0, 9/11 and 11/8.

The group-C division witnessed Rebecca Low dismantling Sarah Lewis 11/6, 11/2 and 11/3 and Makeda Harding squeaking past Maya Collins 11/2, 10/12, 8/11, 11/3 and 11/7.

In the group-D section, Lucas Jonas overcame John Phang 1/11, 11/9, 11/9, 9/11 and 11/5 and Demetrius DeAbreu 4/11, 11/5, 11/4 and 11/5.

Continuing in the same section, Samuel Ince-Carvahal dismissed Zachary Persaud 11/1, 11/4 and 11/6 while Ethan Jonas defeated Demetrius DeAbreu 8/11, 11/2, 11/6 and 11/7 and Michael Alphonso edged Dominic Collins 11/7, 6/11, 12/10, 9/11 and 11/3.

The final matches of the section saw Collins defeating Persaud 11/3, 11/4 and 11/2 and Phang 11/8, 5/11, 7/11, 11/8 and 11/9 while DeAbreu needled Alphonso 11/4, 11/9, 10/12, 6/11, and 11/7.

In the group-F, James Mekdeci defeated Gareth DaSilva 11/7, 11/5 and 11/1 while Nathan Rahaman downed Haley Carpenter 11/7, 11/4 and 12/10.

The group-G round of fixtures saw Mohryan Baksh edging Liam Carpenter 11/6, 9/11 and 11/8, Beau Fernandes beating Geovanna Do Santos 11/8, 8/11 and 11/4 and Chad DeAbreu defeating Teija Edwards 11/7 and 11/8.

The remaining match of the division saw Carpenter defeating DeAbreu 11/7 and 11/9. In group-H, Louis DaSilva squeaking past Noah Rahaman 15/13 and 13/11 and Isabella Ramjohn defeated Shiloh Asregado 11/9, 9/11 and 11/8.
