Joseph, Wiltshire win titles

Nyron Joseph clinched the A category title while Shomari Wiltshire claimed the category B accolade when the Kraft Toucan Industries junior Skill Level tourney concluded at the on Sunday at the Georgetown Club Racquet Complex.

Joseph defeated Benjamin Mekdeci 13/11, 11/1 and 11/8 to walk away with the title whilst Wiltshire downed Alex Cheeks 5/11, 7/11, 11/7, 11/6 and 11/7 to the championship.

Claiming the third spot in the A-division was Akeila Wiltshire who defeated Alec Melville 11/4, 11/5 and 11/5 while Daniel Islam defeated sibling Anthony Islam to clinch the third spot in the B-Category.

In group-C, Rebecca Lowe emerged as the champion, defeating Makeda Harding in the final matchup 8/11, 11/6, 11/8 and 11/6. Claiming the third spot in the division was Maya Collins.

Despite losing to Demetrius DeAbreu 8/11, 10/12 and 9/11 in his final match of the day, Samuel Ince-Carvahal emerged the winner of group-D. Clinching the second spot was Ethan Jonas who defeated Dominic Collins 9/11, 9/11, 11/8, 11/2 and 11/1.

Finishing in the bronze position was Lucas Jonas who defeated Michael Alphonso 9/11, 11/7, 11/6 and 11/3. The other match in the section saw John Phang crushing Zachary Persaud 11/4, 11/2 and 11/3.

In group-E, Kirsten Gomes walked away with the title, defeating Madison Fernandes in the final matchup 11/2, 11/7, 11/13 and 12/10. Rounding out the top three was Jason Gomes who defeated Abosaide Cadogan 11/5, 11/6 and 11/2.

James Mekdeci became the champion of category-F, brushing aside Nathan Rahaman 11/6, 11/1 and 11/4. Rounding out the top three was Gareth DaSilva and Nathan Rahaman who finished in the second and third position respectively.

The other match of the section saw Haley Carpenter edging Aliyah Persaud 5/11, 11/8, 11/8, 9/11 and 12/10. In group-G, Mohryan Baksh clinched the championship after defeating Teija Edwards 11/8 and 11/3.

Claiming second was Liam Carpenter while Chad DeAbreu finished in the third spot after overcoming Beau Fernandes 10/12, 11/4, 11/4. In group-H, Louis DaSilva was adjudged the champion, defeating Isabella Ramjohn 11/8 and 11/2.

Finishing in the third spot was Shiloh Asregado who beat Noah Rahaman 11/9 and 11/9. In the individual award section, Rebecca Low and Samuel Ince-Carvahal received the most outstanding girl and boy award respectively while Alexander Cheeks and Kirsten Gomes received the most improved boy and girl accolade respectively.
