St Stanislaus go down to St Rose’s

St. Rose’s got their tourney off to the perfect start, crushing St. Stanislaus College 78-15 when the National School Basketball festival Georgetown Zone commenced on Friday at the Marian Academy Hard Court on Carifesta Avenue.

Nathan Saul led the Church Street unit with a game high 27 points, four rebounds and as many steals. He was supported by Anfernee Jervis who grabbed a double-double of 11 points and 10 rebounds. Netting 11 points in the loss was Kadeem Bowen.

Continuing in the same section, Georgetown Technical Institute (GTI) squeaked past the Bishops High by a 37-36 score line. Terrence Daniels was the top scorer for the Woolford Avenue unit with 12 points and six rebounds while Luke Sebastian supported with eighth points.

In the u-14 section, St. Rose’s High defeated the Bishops’ High 35-21. Kwesi Roberts netted 11 points and grabbed seven rebounds in the win while Colston Richards supported with eight points. Scoring 13 points and grabbing eighth rebounds in the loss was Stefan Hamilton.
