Amelia’s Ward Russians, Wisroc clash today in Guinness final

Amelia’s Ward Russians and Wisroc will compete for the fourth annual Linden edition of the Guinness of the Streets championship when the grand finale commences today at the Mackenzie Market Place tarmac from 10:30hrs

Clinching their berth to the finale via a marathon sudden penalty shoot-out over last year’s losing finalist Retrieve Unknown, the battled hardened Amelia’s Ward Russians will start the match as the favourite as they aim to walk away with the first prize and bragging rights.

Sealing their place following a 1-0 win over a highly touted Star Boyz unit, the youthful Wisroc outfit will be aiming to seal another upset win and will need another determined showing if they are to be successful.

Prior to the grand finale, Retrieve Unknowns and Star Boyz will do battle for the third place position from 10:00hrs. Winners of either event will receive $300,000 and the championship trophy while the second place side will collect $150,000 and the runners-up accolade.
