Shomari Wiltshire, Makeda Harding and Kirsten Gomes secured comprehensive wins on night two of the Guyana Squash Association (GSA) Junior National Championships on Thursday at the Georgetown Club Facility on Camp Street.
Wiltshire defeated John Phang 11/2, 11/2, 11/3 and Nechemiyah Levans 11/2, 11/2, 11/6. On the other hand, Harding dismissed Adrian Latchmansingh in straight sets 11/0, 11/1, 11/1 and Aliyah Persaud 11/3, 11/2, 11/0.
Gomes downed Hayley Carpenter 11/3, 11/2, 11/2 and Teija Edwards 11/3, 11/3, 11/2. In other female results, Isabella Ramjohn defeated Geovanna DoSantos 11/9, 11/8, 11/7 while Madison Fernandes dismissed Abosaide Cadogan 3-0 (12/10, 11/3, 11/8).
Sarah Lewis would then crush Maya Collins 11/8, 12/10, 11/5 while Beau Fernandes defeated Isabella Ramjohn 11/5, 11/7, 11/9 and Larissa Wiltshire downed Rebecca Low 11/2, 11/2, 11/2.
On the male side, Mohryan Baksh defeated Louis DaSilva 11/0, 11/1, 11/2 while Chad DeAbreu downed Wade Beckles 11/1, 11/4, 11/2 and James Mekdeci dismissing Liam Carpenter 11/0, 11/5, 11/1.
Samuel Ince-Carvahal overcame Lucas Jonas 11/6, 12/10, 11/4 while Gareth DaSilva defeated Mashel Allicock 11/3, 11/4, 11/5 and Dominic Collins downed Levans 11/5, 11/2, 11/1.
Continuing in the boy’s section, Kamir Khan defeated DaSilva 11/0, 11/0, 11/0 while Jason Gomes crushed Allicock 11/1, 13/11, 11/2 and Michael Alphonso brushed aside Carpenter 11/0, 11/0, 11/0.
In the final four results of the section, Demetrius DeAbreu crushed DaSilva 11/2, 11/3, 11/0 while Alexander Cheeks edged Daniel Islam 8/11, 11/8, 11/9, 11/6, Matthew Phang overcame Anthony Islam 4/11, 11/9, 11/6, 11/7 and Ethan Jonas downed Khan 11/1, 11/1, 11/2. The action is slated to continue today at the same venue with another round of matches.
