GCC women gain revenge on Checkers with 2-0 win

Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) opened the third round in the Trinidad and Tobago Women’s Outdoor league in the perfect manner, defeating Checkers by a 2-0 score line Saturday at the East Sports Complex in Tacarigua, Trinidad.

Suffering a 1-0 loss in their first round meeting, the Guyanese unit would break the deadlock in the 28th minute as Shebiki Baptiste scored, deflecting an initial Kerensa Fernandes effort past the opposing custodian Petal Derry into the back of the net.
