A match-winning exhibition of off-spin bowling by Plaffiana Millington who snared a 6-3, helped Berbice to a comprehensive 10-wicket whipping of Essequibo as the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) senior female inter-county 50-over tournament bowled off yesterday.
Left arm medium bowler Erva Giddings supported Millington’s magic which required a mere four overs to achieve, with figures of 2-7, mowing down the Cinderella County ladies for 19 all out in 12 overs at the Guyana Defence Force (GDF) ground,
Selena Shemroy 6) and Natasha Boson (5) were the top scorers.
In an effortless chase of 19 runs, knocks from openers Melanie Henry (07*) and Katana Mentore (04*) and nine extras saw Berbice cruise to 20-0 victory in fours overs.
The competition continues today with Essequibo looking to rebound against Demerara at the same venue.
