Track and field athletes Harris, McCammon in action today…..PanAm Games 2015

— Squash team loses 0-3 to Ecuador

Guyanese track and field athletes will push for the podium starting today at the ongoing Pan American Games in Toronto, Canada. Sprinter, Adam Harris is scheduled to get into the blocks at around 11:17hrs when the men’s 100m heats begins. Janea McCammon (triple jump) is also down to compete at 18:05hrs.

Tomorrow at around the same time, national 400m record holder, Winston George will spring into action in the quarter mile event. George and Harris will also compete in the half lap race which begins on Thursday at 11:30hrs.

Meanwhile swimmers Onika George and Omar Adams failed to advance in the 50m freestyle races on Friday.

George placed fourth in Heat One clocking 29.03s while Adams placed eighth in a time of 26.58 seconds in Heat Three. On Thursday the men’s squash team competing for places seven to 10 lost 0-3 to Ecuador.

Orlando Rodriguez defeated Kristian Jeffrey 12-10, 11-9, 11-7, Juan Chacon defeated Sunil Seth 11-8, 11-8, 12-10 and Ernesto Davila defeated Jason Ray Khalil 11-7, 11-3, 8-11, 11-9.
