Hockey team records second win in Trinidad

Team Guyana recorded their second win of the Player Tournament defeating an U-21 Training Squad by a 2-0 score line on Sunday in the Twin-Island Republic of Trinidad and Tobago.

Aroydy Branford secured the win for the Guyanese with a double. In their second match of the event, Guyana defeated Queen’s Park by a 2-1 score line. Mark Sergeant and Ato Greene completed the come-from-behind win for the Guyanese with solo goals.

In their tourney opener, Guyana went down to Malvern Sports Club by a 5-3 margin. Conceding three early goals in the opening half, Guyana eventually pulled within one of the score as Keon Mackenzie and Branford scored.

The home side eventually restored their three goal advantage before Paramanand Dindial netted for Guyana to complete the score line. While yesterday is a slated rest day for the event, Guyana was slated to lock horns with Trinidad and Tobago’s National u-21 unit from 16:00hrs.
