Burnham memorial basketball…Colts swats Victory Valley Royals 64-57

A post-match scuffle marred Georgetown unit Colts’ 64-57 semi-final win over Linden unit Victory Valley Royals when the GABF Forbes Burnham Memorial Championship continued on Wednesday at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall.

According to reports from the venue, following the conclusion of the fixture Colts’ guard Dave Causway was struck in the face by Pacesetters Jermin Hamilton, after the former allegedly threw a basketball which struck the latter off the court.

The reports further said that the issue started during the matchup after Hamilton began heckling and taunting Causway and his team from the sitting area.

Guyana Amateur Basketball Federation (GABF) President Nigel Hinds in an invited comment said “Both players are suspended until further notice from GABF. The GABF has a meeting scheduled for September 6, 2015 – where the GABF executive will address the conduct of both players and make a definitive pronouncement on the issue, based on our current gathering of information related to the altercation”.
