Turfites in for treat at President’s Cup meet

Today, the nation’s top trotters will be competing at the Rising Sun Turf Club for cash and stakes at the President’s Cup meet in honour of His Excellency President David Granger.

The fixture will have in excess of $7.5M up for grabs with entries swelling to over 80 so far for the eight-race event. The highlight of the day’s activities will be the feature C and lower, nine furlong event, for a first prize of $1.2M and the Trophy Stall’s champion’s trophy.

Note: Yesterday, the champion’s stable trophy was handed over to the race organizer, Faizal Habibulla.

With entries such as Princess She Is Not, two-time Guyana Cup winner, CP Got Even, California Strike, Red and Lovely, Jack In My Style and others, turfites will be in for a treat.

Starting time is 13:00hrs.

Other events on the card include the Four Year-old and D3 and Lower non winners (8 furlong), Three year-old Guyana and West Indian Bred (7 furlongs), Two Year- Old Open to Guyana and West Indian Bred (1100m), F and Lower (7 furlongs) G3 and Lower (7 furlongs), I and Lower (1100m), K and Lower (1100m) and the J and Lower (1100m). The track is said to be in very good condition and turfites are expected to experience an entertaining day of racing.  Additional attractions will also add to the entertainment.
