Richardson cops two awards in GFF Stag Beer League

Golden Jaguars International and Pele FC forward Gregory Richardson was officially selected yesterday as the Courts Guyana Incorporated ‘Player of the Month’ for his exploits in the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) Stag Beer Elite.

The award ceremony which was deliberated upon by media operatives from the respective print and video publications, saw the veteran forward claiming the award unanimously due to his displays.

Presently Richardson is the event’s leading marksman with four conversions, which is exactly half of his team’s scored goals to date. He also recorded one assist to date. Due to his exploits, Pele currently sit second in the point standings, behind Alpha United on goal difference.

For winning the accolade, Richardson will receive a $25,000 shopping voucher from Furniture and Appliance giants. Similarly, Richardson was also the ‘Goal of the Month’ award winner for his curling free kick effort against bitter rivals and former team Alpha United.

His effort was selected ahead of Trevon Lythcott’s header for Fruta Conquerors against the Guyana Defence Force (GDF), Esan Hamer’s thunderbolt for Buxton United against Monedderlust FC and GFC forward Kurt Johnson’s header against GDF. Both of these awards will be selected every month.
