Bad weather postpones start of Windies practice match against President’s X1

COLOMBO, Sri Lanka, CMC- The start of the three-day practice match between West Indies and a Sri Lanka Cricket Board President’s X1 has been postponed because of bad weather in Colombo.

The match, at the Sinhalese Sports Club, was due to start today but will now begin tomorrow, officials have announced.The delayed start means West Indies now only have two days between the end of the practice match and the start of the first Test scheduled to begin next Wednesday.

Daily showers in Colombo have forced West Indies to practice indoors since their arrival last Thursday.

The first Test is set to be played in Galle before the teams return to Colombo to play the second Test at the P Sara Oval.

 

Three ODI matches and two T20 games will follow the test series between West Indies and Sri Lanka.
