Second round of Pee Wee football gets underway today

The second round of group fixtures in the fourth annual Petra Organization/Courts Pee-Wee Under-11 football tournament will continue today at the Thirst Park ground with 12 group matchups.

The event, which concludes November 15th at the same venue, features 24 schools competing in a round-robin format of six groups of four teams each.

On conclusion of the group stage, the top two teams from each group as well as the best four third positioned teams will advance to the round of 16 knock-out stage.

Following the conclusion of the round of 16 stage, the losing eight schools will compete for positions nine through 16 until the conclusion of the event while the victorious eight schools will compete for the semi-final positions. In the opening round of matches at 10:00hrs, St. Sidwell’s will oppose Rama Krishna while St. Stephen’s will oppose J.E. Burnham. At 10:45hrs, St. Angela’s will oppose Sophia Primary while F.E. Pollard Primary will lock horns with Smith Memorial.

In the 11:30hrs round of matches, Marian Academy will oppose St. Agnes while Enterprise Primary will tackle defending champs Stella Maris. The 12:15hrs round of fixtures will witness St. Gabriel’s opposing Winfer Garden and Comenius Primary facing off with St. Margaret’s.

At 13:00hrs, East La Penitence will lock horns with St. Ambrose while School of the Nations will tackle Tucville Primary. In the final two matches at 13:45hrs, South Ruimveldt will oppose West Ruimveldt and North Georgetown will tackle St. Pius Primary.
