No more reality TV; this year Miss Jamzone Guyana returns to “its roots as a beach oriented pageant,” organisers say and it is billed for HJ Water World, Providence on July 5.
The event will see Radiante Frank, Cardella Hamilton, Eksi Edwards, Treasure James, Carlene Waithe and Onica Rose contesting for the crown and the opportunity to represent Guyana in the international leg of the Miss Jamzone Pageant, which is usually held in August.
HJ Entertainment introduced the contestants via a press release issued on Thursday.
Radiante Frank
Radiante Frank, 23, is a graduate of the University of Guyana with a degree in Communication Studies, an advanced student of the Classique Dance
School, an English and Theatre Arts teacher at Queen’s College and a budding actress at the Theatre Guild of Guyana. She also writes poetry and has a passion for life and all things artistic.
Cardella Hamilton
Cardella Hamilton, 24, is a freelance model as well as a final year student at the University of Guyana majoring in Public Management. She plans to eventually become an entrepreneur.
Eksi Edwards
Eksi Edwards has studied Sociology as a prelaw course at the University of Guyana with the hopes of reading for her Master’s in Law Management in 2016. She lives by the philosophy, “Never walk when it’s possible to run,” and strongly believes in the values of family, love and friendship.
Treasure James
Treasure James is currently a medical student and aims to be a role model for youths, especially for the young women of Guyana.
She has a passion for helping others and finds herself each day, wanting to change the world for the greater good.
Carlene Waithe
Carlene Waithe is into fitness and healthy living. She obtained a Certificate of Athletic participation from the International Association of Athletics Federation (IAAF) in 2006 and uses this knowledge to help teach children how to be healthy and stay fit with the experience she gained over the years from her athletic training.
Onica Rose
Onica Rose taught remedial Mathematics to students of the Campbellville Secondary School as part of the Cognitive Initiative of the Benab Foundation last year. She enjoys outdoor activities and has danced as well as played tennis and cricket.
