Six including 3 Costa Ricans arrested after ganja find

ST ELIZABETH, Jamaica Observer — The police have reported that six people were arrested in connection with the seizure of 470 pounds of ganja in Black River, St Elizabeth on Friday.

Reports are that about 2:33 pm, the Jamaica Defence Force Coast Guard intercepted two fishing vessels with three Costa Ricans and three Jamaicans aboard. The vessels were searched and the compressed drug found in nine knitted parcels and a plastic bucket.

The drug seized has an estimated street value of approximately J$2.8 million.

The six men were arrested after the seizure. Their identities are being withheld pending further investigations.
