Injured is Glenfield Dennison, 31. Police said the shooting occurred at about 9pm on Thursday. In a statement, the police said Dennison was shot to his chest and left arm while on the roadway outside his premises.

Stabroek News understands that the injured man had just dropped off his girlfriend, who is also a student of UG, when the attack occurred. It is believed that they were returning home from classes.

Reports revealed that Dennison had just returned home when his relatives heard gunshots. After a while, they ventured outside and saw him lying on the ground with blood oozing from his chest and hand. He was immediately picked up and taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH) where he reportedly underwent emergency surgery.

Contacted yesterday, his cousin, Mannon Dennison declined to speak on the matter.
