The main suspect in the Black Bush triple murder has been held and he is the owner of the same type of weapon that inflicted the deadly wounds.

Seven out of the ten suspects who were in custody in connection with the triple murder were yesterday released on station bail at $50,000 each.

The murders were discovered on Friday.

According to Commander of B Division, Ian Amsterdam, the main suspect they were in pursuit of was found and is currently in custody being questioned. According to a police source, the main suspect has had run-ins with the law in the past and owns rice lands in the vicinity where the crime was committed. Amsterdam informed Stabroek News that the investigation has revealed that the main suspect is a licensed firearm holder and owns a shotgun, the same type of weapon which was used in the murders. He relayed that the shotgun was taken and sent to Georgetown for ballistics testing. The Commander stated that a team from the force’s Major Crimes Unit (MCU) arrived in Berbice yesterday and visited the crime scene. He said they are heading the investigation and hope to secure a major breakthrough.
