Bandits snatch $2M Survival payroll

An employee of the Survival Supermarket was on Friday afternoon attacked by two bandits and robbed of a $2M payroll while returning from a city bank.

The attack occurred around 5pm.

A police source confirmed the robbery to Stabroek News and related that the driver of the taxi that the worker was using was taken into custody for questioning.

Information revealed that employees carrying out such transactions would usually use the supermarket’s taxi service but due to the unavailability of the vehicles, the worker was forced to use a car attached to another taxi service.

This newspaper was told that the female employee was returning to the supermarket’s Sheriff Street outlet when she was attacked and robbed. The bandits reportedly gun-butted her and forced her to hand over the money, after which they escaped.
