Tiger Bay sweeps Futsal competitions

Tiger Bay solidified their status as the leading Futsal playing district, sweeping the female, boys U17, trainers and Open sections when the Central Georgetown Police Youth Group coordinated Rainforest Water Knockout Futsal Championship concluded yesterday.

Played at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall on Homestretch Avenue, Tiger Bay defeated Yarrowkabra 7-4 to walk away with the Open title while in the boys U17 final, their B side downed their –A team 3-0.

Similarly, Tiger Bay downed East Bank of Demerara unit Mocha 2-0 to capture the female championships and secured the sweep in the trainers final as they mauled East Bank of Demerara outfit Agricola 7-1.

In the traditional third place matches, Central Georgetown swamped Mocha 6-1 in the trainers division while Albouystown defeated Central Georgetown 2-0 in the female division.

Albouystown-A brushed aside Central Georgetown-A by a 3-0 score in the boys U17 section and Central Georgetown squeaked past Agricola 2-1 in the Open category.

The event featured over 35 teams from the areas of Tigerbay, Mocha, Alberttown /North Sophia, Albouystown, Grove, Central Georgetown, Yarrowkabra, Golden Grove/Diamond, Soesdyke/ Timehri and Agricola among others.
