Shivraj upsets top golfers to win Ramdial Memorial tournament

Mahesh Shivraj upset some of the country’s top golfers Saturday to win the Prabudial Ramdial Memorial one day tournament held at the Lusignan Golf Course (LGC).

Shivraj, playing with a 27 handicap ended with a net 59 from a gross 86 while Scotia Bank Executive Brian Hackett, 22 handicap, placed second with a 64 net from a gross 86.

Club Vice-President Patrick Prashad, nine handicap ended with a net 67 from a gross 77 for third place.

Prashad also won the Best Gross while Nearest to The Pin was won by Robert Hanoman.

“I played a fairly good game, most of my balls

were on the fairway all the time, just a few went off. In addition my

chipping was excellent, the good chipping meant that distance to putt

was small so I finished each hole well,” said Shivraj afterwards.
