Novices bodybuilding c/ships on tonight

Fitness fans get ready, the highly anticipated Fitness Express Novices Bodybuilding and Fitness Championships will be staged tonight at the Theatre Guild.

Scheduled for a 19:00hrs start, musclemen and women outfitted with rippling abdominals, well defined quadriceps, sculpted arms, stilettos and bikinis will be on display as they battle for supremacy.

For just the second time on the Novices stage, the Men’s Physique segment will be contested along with the customary bodybuilding categories, Ms. Bikini and Ms. Body Fitness categories.

In the Physique category, the keys to victory are simple aesthetics: symmetry, presentation, conditioning without being too vascular with shredded muscles. Whoever brings it best will win.

Look for the guys to be dialed in, with their V-tapers, brightly coloured board shorts and their robust stage personality. Everybody wants to win, so you can be sure the whole field will ‘bring their best package’

Like any new division, it will have some growing pains. The judges will once again have the opportunity this year to set the standard for what they deem the ideal physique in the division.

Tonight’s event promises to be of a higher standard since many of the athletes have been through months of grueling contest prep.

When interviewed, the gladiators promised to bring their ‘A’ game to the stage.

A thrilling night is envisioned.

The bodybuilding athletes will be placed in the customary categories, namely: under 21-years, flyweight, bantamweight, lightweight, welterweight, light middleweight

and heavyweight along with the two categories for the women.

For the Ms. Bikini Contest, judges will analyze body shape, tone, symmetry, complexion, poise, presentation and overall condition. Also, they will be looking for a fit, toned feminine body that display proper conditioning. Contestants will be judged individually and in group comparisons.

The show will also feature last year’s Novices champion, Chetram Nagessar, U-143-lb Flex Night champion, Zalim Bacchus and former Mr. Guyana, Devon Davis. Nagessar, Bacchus and Davis will be the special guest posers for the night.

According to Organizing Secretary of the federation, Videsh Sookram, “There will be 32 plus males and females on the stage.”

Admission to the venue will cost $1500.

Fitness Express, Digital Technology, Sabina Global Technologies and Mogainz Fitness are the notable sponsors for the event.

See you there.
