Moore is best boxer

Up and coming pugilist Christopher Moore punched his way to the best boxer award on Saturday night when the inaugural Caribbean Schoolboys and Juniors tournament concluded at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall.

After clinching victories against Daniel Hilton of Jamaica  and Kareem Boyce of St. Lucia in their punchfilled bouts, the Harpy Eagles product gained the judges nod for the coveted trophy.

The crowd-pleasing Moore put on a dazzling display of attack and defence, counter punching his lightweight opponents to earn the victories.

The silver medal went to Boyce while Deshaun Allicock and Hilton captured  bronze medals.

Meanwhile, President of the Guyana Boxing Association, Steve Ninvalle stated that the incident free, two-day competition was successful and that the GBA and the other participating nations, St. Lucia and Jamaica look forward to the staging of similar tournaments.

The GBA head also heaped praises on local conglomerate, DDL for their continued support of the association and its ventures.
