Pulsating matchups are expected to be on show tonight when Team 25 tackles High Rollers and Classic-6 battles Wisroc in the semi-final round in the Guinness of the Streets Linden edition at the Amelia Ward Hardcourt.
While the Classic-6 and Wisroc fixture is expected to be a contest of attack versus defense, the encounter between High Rollers and Team 25 is set to be a high-scoring affair.
Veteran outfit Team 25 has been the leading unit since the start of the event with a margin of at least two goals per win recorded in every fixture. This translates into 12 goals and a rate of four goals per match.
On the defensive side, Team 25 has been equally formidable as they have only been breached once.
For High Rollers, seven goals have been fashioned by their offence at a rate of 2.3 goals per match inclusive of an impressive 3-0 win over holder Amelia’s Ward Russians.
With regards to their backline, the youthful High Rollers have been breached twice. However in they previous two fixtures, they have not conceded.
The other semi-final will pit last year’s losing finalist Wisroc against emerging unit Classic-6. The defeated finalist path to the final four was a battle tested one, with two penalty kick wins over Silver Bullets and Future Stars included in their three victories to date.
Offensively, Wisroc have scored three goals at a rate of 1 goals per match while defensively they have conceded two goal. On the other side, Classic-6 has recorded comprehensive wins in two out of three matches, with eight goals registered thus far at a rate of 2.6 goals per game.
On the defensive end, they have only been breached twice. Prior to to commencement of the semi-final matches, exhibition fixtures will be staged.
The winning team will pocket the championship trophy and $400,000 while the second placed unit will collect $150,000 and the corresponding accolade. The third and fourth placed units will receive $75,000 and $50,000 respectively and the corresponding trophies.
