Guyana ousted after 0-3 defeat to Antigua/Barbuda

Guyana were booted from the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) u17 Championship, going down to Antigua and Barbuda by a 3-0 margin yesterday at the Lionel Roberts Stadium in United States Virgin Islands.

Needing to win to keep their hopes alive of qualification, the Guyanese were eliminated as they ended the tournament in the third spot on three points. It was the second loss for Guyana, who managed to secure one win in group with a 1-0 victory over USVI.

The Guyanese in their opening fixture went down to Jamaica 3-1. Guyana’s squad for the event read (Goalkeepers) Jonathan Copeland, Sese Norville, (Defenders) Jeremy Garrett, Cicil Jackman, Ackel Forde, Kevin Padmore, Cosmo De Santos, Javier Smith, Alwin Franklin (Midfielders) Rondel Peters, Lorenzo Miller, Tyrel Khan, Nicholas McArthur, Roberto Case (overseas) (Forwards) Malachi Adonis, Joshua Ferreira (overseas), Daniel Floy, Kobe Durant and Omar Brewley.

The tournament is scheduled to conclude on 25th September, 2016 in Trinidad and Tobago.
