Courts makes donation to GPF athletics c/ships

Courts Furniture Inc., at a simple ceremony Thursday at the headquarters of the furniture giants on Main Street, handed over the sum of $200,000 to assist in providing trophies for the annual Guyana Police Force Athletics and Swimming Championships.

The championships commence tomorrow and concludes July 29.

Courts, which advocates the healthy living of citizens through sport, said that it was pleased to support the event which is one of the most anticipated and exciting championships each year.

The swimming competition will kick start activities at 10:00 hours tomorrow at the National Aquatic Centre while the athletic championships will be held at the Police Sports Club Ground, Eve Leary.

As customary, the athletics championships will continue on Tuesday, Wednesday, and end Friday at the Eve Leary Ground.

These championships will feature the best athletes of the Guyana Police Force as they compete with other athletes from the Caribbean.
