Alpha United making moves ahead of upcoming season

With only two days remaining in the official transfer window, Alpha United has secured the services of several high profile signings in their attempt to regain their position as the number one team in the nation

According to sources close to the club, the Georgetown unit has acquired several players from their Guyana Football Federation (GFF) Stag Beer Elite League rivals ahead of the season.

Reports indicate that three players from Fruta Conquerors have switched their allegiance.

Additionally, three players from East Coast of Demerara unit Buxton United and two from Bourda based outfit Georgetown Football Club will play for Alpha next season.

According to the sources, defenders Rafael Edwards and Adrian Adonis as well as midfielder Jahaal Greaves are the Fruta Conquerors players that will be playing their trade for Alpha United in the coming season.

Sources also indicate that defenders Inceford Charles and Kevin Dundas along with versatile attacker Leo Lovell are the players leaving Buxton United for the second placed finisher.

The Bourda unit has lost the services of strike duo Romario Welcome and Keiron Solomon.

In terms of the players making an exit sources indicate that several U-23 players will be loaned to lower division clubs in an effort to gain experience.

Alpha United finished second in the inaugural Stag Beer Elite League which concluded on June 27 at the Leonora Sports Facility losing to Slingerz FC 0-1 in the clash of the champions playoff match.
