Uitvlugt whip Wales to regain top spot

Uitvlugt yesterday regained the top spot in the Stag Beer-sponsored West Demerara Football Association Senior League after they whipped Wales 4-0 at the Den Amstel Community ground.

Trailing Den Amstel by three points heading into yesterday’s kickoff, Uitvlugt duly triumphed after Daniel Floy scored twice in the 50th and 59th minute and Jermain Accra and Lerone Jacobs netted in the 25th and 69th minute respectively.

Nigel Bowman received a red card in the 61st minute for using abusive language to an opponent.

Uitvlugt now has 22 points but occupy the top spot due to a superior goal difference while Wales are in eight position with eight points.

In another encounter, Golden Warriors defeated Jetty Gunners 2-0 with Linden Gill and Shaquille Bristol scoring in the eighth and 48th minute respectively. It was the second win for Golden Warriors occupy seventh position with eight points.

Jetty Gunners, whose campaign has been concluded are on four points and remain in 10th place.
