A total of eight persons were arrested yesterday after the police swooped down on a popular ‘drug yard’ at North Road, Bourda, Georgetown.
Stabroek News understands that a number of police officers, some of whom were armed, arrived at the location yesterday. While some surrounded the premises, the others raided the yard and the eight persons who were present at the time were taken to the police station for questioning.
It is unclear if any narcotics were found during the raid.
