Indian national shot after waylaid by gunman in car

An Indian National who was on his way home along with his friends, was shot and hospitalized during an attempted robbery about 23:50hrs last night at First Street, Cummings Lodge, East Coast Demerara,

Investigations, police say, have so far revealed that Brianard Revival, 28, a foreign student of Second Street, Cummings Lodge, East Coast Demerara, was in company of some friends, in his motor car, when he stopped at a junction and a motor car suddenly drove in front of his and stopped.

A male suspect, brandishing a handgun exited the back seat of the car, approached and demanded cash and valuables. The victim immediately sped away during which the suspect discharged his firearm, injuring Revival in the upper left arm.

The victim was taken to a private institution where he underwent surgery and is presently in a stable condition. No arrests have yet been made, police say.
