Beverley Persaud, who allegedly masterminded the 2015 murder of her block maker husband, was yesterday committed to stand trial.
Persaud and Oswald Yaw, the man who allegedly carried out her plan, were both committed to stand trial by Magistrate Judy Latchman for the murder of Nathan Andrew Persaud.
The joint charge against them stated that on September 10, 2015, at Herstelling, East Bank Demerara, they murdered Persaud.
At the conclusion of the Preliminary Inquiry (PI) into the murder charge, the attorneys for Persaud and Yaw declined to cross-examine Police Inspector Mitchell Cesar. Magistrate Latchman later stated that she found sufficient evidence to have Persaud and Yaw stand trial at the High Court for the crime.
